What you got

They received at least about 3,450 EUR (3,000 GBP) for one academic year at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. The funding was aimed at students from low-income households. It could be awarded in the form of a fee waiver, a cash grant or other forms of support; the type of support was determined by the school. The UK government funded the programme and ran it nationwide from 2012–13 to 2014–15. Every English university whose tuition fees exceeded 6,000 GBP per year was required to participate and, in addition, to contribute at least the same amount from its own funds.

Who could apply

• University: You’d been offered a place at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
• Field of study: Every subject at school counted.
• Financial need: Your household income was 25,000 GBP per year or less.
• Nationality: You came from the UK or the European Union.

How to apply

This programme has ended. The National Scholarship Programme was a temporary government initiative which came to an end after the 2014–15 academic year and is no longer listed by Central. If you would now like to study there: the university offers other scholarships and study grants for those who have been admitted. These include automatic funding for UK undergraduate students with a household income of less than 40,000 GBP.
