Wilson Endowment Scholarship

You will receive about 575 EUR (£500) per year for three years, totalling approximately 1,725 EUR (£1,500). The amount will be paid in a single instalment per academic year of your Bachelor’s degree. You are free to use the money as you wish. It is provided by the University of Northampton and funded by the Wilson Foundation, a UK charity that supports young people from Northamptonshire. Around three scholarships are awarded each year.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You are a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Northampton.
• Local connection: You were born in Northamptonshire or have lived there for at least three years.
• Age: You are 21 or younger.
• Study form: You are studying full-time or on a blended programme (a combination of online and face-to-face sessions).
• Field of study: Open to all disciplines.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, including international students.

How to apply

Applications are made via a separate form on the university’s website. The application deadline has now passed and will reopen in October 2026 for the following year. A selection panel will shortlist applicants, meaning that only selected candidates will proceed to the next stage; you will be notified of the result by email.

How realistic are your chances?

The selection criteria for this award are very strict. You must be a first-year student at Northampton, be aged 21 or under, and have a genuine connection to Northamptonshire, meaning that very few people meet the requirements. As only around three scholarships are awarded each year, the selection process is very competitive. A clear local connection and a compelling application will give you a good chance of success.
