About this scholarship

Benefit

In the first year, you will receive a discount of fee cut of about 1,750 EUR (1,500 GBP) on your tuition fees, awarded by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham in the UK. In each of the following three years, you can also receive approximately 1,150 EUR (1,000 GBP), for a total of up to four years. To continue receiving this funding in years two to four, you must have passed the previous academic year with an overall average mark of at least 70% and demonstrate a satisfactory attendance record, as confirmed by your Head of Department.

Eligibility

  • Fee status: You pay the tuition fees for international students (from abroad) and not the tuition fees for UK students.
  • Course: You will be embarking on a full Bachelor’s (Honours) degree programme offered by the Faculty of Engineering.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they have foreign student status.
  • Your choice: You apply via UCAS, the central application system for higher education institutions in the UK, and select Nottingham as your first choice.
  • Not eligible: The degree programmes are offered in collaboration with departments outside the field of engineering; this includes students transferring to Nottingham from our campuses in China or Malaysia, as well as applicants for the architecture programmes (BArch, DipArch and the MEng programme in ‘Architecture and the Environment’).

How to apply

You do not need to submit a separate application. Provided you meet the criteria, the fee reduction will be granted automatically as soon as you have applied to Nottingham via UCAS and have listed the university as your firm (first) choice.

How realistic are your chances?

The last documented call for applications was aimed at students who began their degree in 2016, and as there is currently no up-to-date version publicly advertised, the programme appears to have ended. The faculty now awards a separate alumni scholarship, which is aimed at British students rather than international students. If you are an international applicant applying for an engineering degree programme, please check the University of Nottingham’s current scholarships pages to find out which programme has replaced this one.
