Jowett Senior Exhibition

You will receive about £1,750 per year (around 2,050 EUR) for up to 2 years. You will also receive free meals and certain dining privileges at the college’s ‘High Table’, the raised table where the Fellows dine. Two scholarships are awarded: one in the humanities and one in the natural sciences. The University of Oxford awards this scholarship, which is named after Benjamin Jowett, a former Master of Balliol College.

Who can apply

• Level: You already hold a first degree (you are a graduate).
• Where you study: You are already working at the University of Oxford.
• Field of study: Your subject falls either within the humanities or the natural sciences, as one prize is awarded for each field.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How realistic are your chances?

There are only two scholarships, one for the humanities and one for the natural sciences, and you must already have obtained a degree at Oxford. The pool of eligible applicants is small, but so is the competition. If you clearly fit into one of the two subject areas and are already enrolled at the university, you are among the few who qualify.
