About this scholarship
Chellgren Scholarship (University College, Oxford)
You will receive up to about 4,600 EUR per year (£4,000) for up to 3 years to fund a Master’s degree at the University of Oxford. As this is a partial scholarship, it covers only part of your costs and not the full amount. University College (‘Univ’), one of the colleges at Oxford, awards the scholarship and selects the scholarship holders from among the students it has admitted.
Who can apply
- Study level: You are applying for a place on a postgraduate course (Master’s or PhD) at the University of Oxford.
- College place: University College (Univ) has offered you a place, or you are already studying for an M.Phil, B.Phil, M.Sc or M.St at Oxford and would like to commence a doctoral programme.
- Field of study: Applicants from all degree programmes are welcome to apply. A degree in economics is preferred, but is not a prerequisite.
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
How to apply
There is no separate application process. You apply to the University of Oxford as normal, within the deadline for your degree programme in January or March. On the basis of this application, you will then automatically be considered for this scholarship.
How realistic are your chances?
The pool of applicants for this award is small, as you must already have secured a place at a specific Oxford college. If you meet this requirement and are studying economics (the preferred subject area), your prospects are good, as the selection process is automatic and requires no additional effort. Please note: The only confirmed information comes from an older, archived page. You should therefore check with the college to see whether the scholarship is still available before relying on it.
