About this scholarship

Benefit

You will receive financial support towards the tuition fees for the one-year ‘Master of Public Policy’ (MPP) programme at the University of Oxford. The amount of this support varies from year to year. It is often half or the full tuition fee; in some cases, it has also covered living costs. The tuition fees for the MPP programme amount to 54,450 GBP (approximately 63,000 EUR) for the 2026–27 academic year. A half or full scholarship is therefore worth approximately 31,500 to 63,000 EUR. The scholarship is awarded by the Blavatnik School of Government and Green Templeton College. During your studies, you will become a member of Green Templeton College.

Eligibility

  • Degree: You are applying for the Master of Public Policy (MPP), a one-year full-time Master’s programme at Oxford.
  • Field: The MPP programme focuses on public policy and the civil service, drawing on economics, politics, philosophy and law.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities from all over the world are welcome to apply.
  • Selection basis: Selection is based on your performance and your commitment to public service, not on financial need.
  • Track record: You have excellent grades and an impressive track record of professional achievements.
  • Public service: You can demonstrate a genuine commitment to public service and to improving the way public authorities operate.

How to apply

There is no separate scholarship application form. Please first apply for the MPP programme by the deadline of 2 December. If you are offered a place on the programme, you will receive the Blavatnik School’s scholarship questionnaire within about a week. By completing this questionnaire, you will be entered into the selection process for this and other scholarships.

How realistic are your chances?

Only a handful of these scholarships are awarded each year. First, you must secure a place on a highly sought-after Master’s programme at Oxford, to which applicants from over 50 countries are admitted – so competition is fierce. What sets applicants apart, alongside excellent grades, is a clear, demonstrable commitment to public service. If your professional career and studies are already focused on improving public administration and you meet the entry requirements for the MPP programme, you have a real chance of success.
