About this grant / loan

Dolbey Travel Scholarship

You will receive a one-off grant of travel grant of up to about 3,500 EUR (maximum 3,000 GBP) to cover your travel expenses whilst studying art. The grant is awarded by the Slade School of Fine Art, the art school of University College London (UCL) in the UK. It is awarded once a year.

Who can apply

  • University: You’re studying at the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL.
  • Study year: You are in the final year of your degree.
  • Degree level: This includes all degree programmes at the Slade, from undergraduate programmes (BA/BFA) to postgraduate programmes (MA/MFA).
  • Field of study: One of the three areas of the Slade programme: painting, visual arts (media) or sculpture.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. There is no requirement to be resident in the United Kingdom.

How realistic are your chances?

The pool of applicants is small: only final-year students at the Slade are eligible to apply, so you won’t be competing on a national level, but rather within a small art college. If you are enrolled at the Slade and are about to graduate, you clearly meet the criteria, and your prospects are good. As only one scholarship is awarded each year, a compelling travel plan linked to your artistic work is what will set you apart from the rest.
