De Montfort University - Health and Life Sciences Postgraduate Alumni Scholarship

What you get

You get a 20% discount on your tuition fees for a postgraduate taught course in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University (DMU) in Leicester. The discount is not paid to you. It is taken straight off your fees when you enrol. It applies for the full length of your course: one year for a full-time MA or MSc (or three years part-time), one year for a full-time PG Dip (or two years part-time), and one year for a PG Cert. DMU offers this to reward its own graduates who return for a further degree.

Who can apply

• DMU graduate: You have already finished a degree at DMU's Leicester campus or through one of its overseas partner institutions. UK, EU and international graduates all qualify.
• Course: You are starting an eligible postgraduate taught course in Health and Life Sciences, such as Advanced Biomedical Science, Clinical Pharmacy, Global Health, Health Psychology, Public Health, Social Work or Mental Health and Wellbeing. Full-time, part-time and distance-learning versions can qualify. The Physician Associate Studies MSc is excluded for the September 2026 intake. Research degrees and undergraduate courses are not covered.
• First DMU postgraduate degree: You have not already finished a postgraduate course at DMU.
• Self-funded: You pay all your own fees. Partly sponsored students do not qualify, but a UK postgraduate student loan is fine.
• No debt: You owe the university no outstanding money.
• No other DMU award: You cannot combine this with another DMU scholarship. If you win a different DMU award, that one replaces this discount.

How to apply

There is no separate application. If you are an eligible DMU graduate, the discount is confirmed and applied automatically when you enrol.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competitive award. It is an automatic fee discount, so there is no selection panel and no limit on numbers. If you are a DMU graduate returning for an eligible Health and Life Sciences course and pay your own fees, you simply receive it. The only things that can rule you out are the conditions above, such as already holding a DMU postgraduate degree or being partly sponsored.
