About this scholarship

Women in STEM Scholarship

You receive £1,000 per year (about 1,150 EUR) for each year you stay enrolled, up to three years. That is up to £3,000 (about 3,450 EUR) in total. The money is paid in three instalments, one per term. The scholarship comes from King's College London's Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences, which uses it to support more women studying science and engineering. Only one scholarship is awarded per round. Repeat years and interrupted study periods are not funded.

Who can apply

  • Who you are: You are a woman.
  • Degree level: You are starting your first Bachelor's degree in September 2026.
  • Where you study: You hold an offer of a place at King's College London for September 2026.
  • Subject: Your programme is in Chemistry, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics or Natural Science.
  • Fee status: You have Home fee status, meaning you qualify for UK student finance (Student Finance England, Northern Ireland, Wales or SAAS).
  • Financial need: Your assessed household income is £42,875 (about 49,300 EUR) or less, as checked by your student finance body.

How to apply

You apply through the online form on the King's College London funding page. The deadline is 15 September 2026 at 23:00. Questions go to the funding team by email.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is cut narrowly. Only one scholarship is given, and you must be a woman starting a specific STEM subject at one university, with Home fee status and a household income under the threshold. That keeps the eligible group small, but a single award still means real competition among those who qualify. If you clearly meet every condition and apply early, your prospects are reasonable.
