About this scholarship
Benefit
You get a one-off payment of about 3,500 EUR (GBP 3,000) from the energy company bp. It is paid after you finish a short series of engagement events. Alongside the money, the programme prepares you for a bp internship: you take part in soft-skills workshops, networking sessions and group work with other students. You learn how bp works, where it wants to be by 2050, and explore different career paths. Once you complete the programme, you skip straight to the technical interview stage for a bp internship the following year, subject to availability.
Eligibility
- Where you study: You are an undergraduate at a UK university.
- Study stage: You are in your pre-penultimate year, that is the year before your second-to-last year of study.
- Field of study: Any subject is fine. No specific degree is required.
- Values: You can show that your personal values match bp's.
How to apply
You apply online through the bp careers portal. If you are chosen, you take part in the engagement events, and the GBP 3,000 is paid once you complete them.
How realistic are your chances?
bp is a large, well-known employer, so an open scholarship like this draws a wide field of applicants across all subjects. What sets you apart is not grades but a genuine fit with bp's values and real interest in the energy sector. A well-matched student who applies early and prepares carefully has fair prospects.
