About this scholarship
What the ABB Scholarship gave you
You have been awarded a scholarship of about 5,750 EUR (£5,000) spread over a three-year degree at the University of Bradford in the UK. In the last round (2015/16), the amount of £2,000 in your first year and £1,500 in each subsequent year was paid directly into your bank account in two instalments. Even for longer degree programmes, the additional years were funded, provided your average mark remained at 60% or above. There was no limit on the number of scholarships, so everyone who met the requirements received one.
Who could apply
- University: You have started your first full-time bachelor’s degree at the University of Bradford.
- Grades: You achieved grades ABB or higher in your A-levels, or hold an equivalent qualification. For the International Baccalaureate, this meant a score of over 30 points. Admission was based on your actual grades, not on your offer or your UCAS points.
- Where you live: You were a ‘Home’ or EU student, i.e. you were from the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) or an EU Member State.
- Field of study: All Bachelor’s degree programmes are eligible, with the exception of those funded by the NHS.
- First degree: This had to be your first university degree, and you were not allowed to transfer from another university.
How you applied
There was no need to fill in an application form. The university automatically assessed all students as soon as the A-level results were available in August. Successful applicants were informed by the end of October whether they had been awarded the scholarship. The final deadline was 20 August 2015.
