About this scholarship
MBA Merit Scholarship at Edinburgh Business School
You will receive a one-off tuition fee discount of approximately 5,850 EUR (£5,000). This will be deducted directly from the fees for the full-time MBA at the University of Edinburgh Business School. You will not receive any cash; the amount will be deducted from your tuition fees. If you accept the scholarship, the university expects you to act as an ambassador for the university both during and after your studies.
Who can apply
- Offer in hand: You have already received a (conditional or unconditional) offer of admission to the full-time MBA programme and have accepted it, or intend to accept it.
- Course: Only the full-time MBA at Edinburgh Business School counts.
- Nationality: Anyone with a proposal can apply – regardless of which country they’re from.
- What decides it: You can demonstrate that you have already achieved outstanding results through your academic grades, professional qualifications and/or your GMAT score (the standard entrance exam for business schools).
- No double funding: Your employer does not cover the full cost of your tuition fees, you do not yet have a full scholarship, and you have not accepted any other scholarship from the University of Edinburgh.
How to apply
Once you have received your offer of admission to the MBA programme, please apply via the online form on the scholarships page. For the start of studies in 2026, there are three application rounds with deadlines on 27 February, 24. April and 26 June 2026. Decisions will be made within approximately one month of the respective deadline. Awards are made on the basis of the documents you submit; there is therefore no interview.
How realistic are your chances?
Only those who have already received an MBA offer of admission are eligible to apply, which means the pool of applicants remains small. However, everyone in this pool is a strong candidate, and the award goes to the applicant with the most impressive academic, professional or GMAT results. If your grades, professional qualifications or test results stand out significantly and you apply in an early round, before places are allocated, your chances are good.
