What you get

You will receive about 11,000 EUR (£9,500) for one year of postgraduate study at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. Postgraduate study refers to a course of study undertaken after you have completed your first degree. The funding may be extended to a second year. The funds are provided by Lord Crewe’s Charity, which is administered by Lincoln College, and are intended to assist students who are unable to cover their full tuition fees. Two scholarships are available for the 2026–27 academic year.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You have been offered a place on a Master’s programme at Lincoln College, University of Oxford.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Where you live: Your usual place of residence is in one of the following areas: the dioceses (church districts) of Durham, Newcastle or Oxford; or Northallertonshire, Howdenshire, Leicestershire or Northamptonshire.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are resident in one of the areas listed above.
• Grades and need: You have an excellent academic record and can prove that you need the money.

How to apply

Once you have received your offer of admission, apply via the Lincoln College online form for postgraduate scholarships. A single form covers all the scholarships for which you are eligible. Please include a personal statement of no more than 600 words, in which you outline your academic achievements, your research plans and your financial needs. The application deadline for the 2026–27 programme is 1 June 2026, and you will receive a response towards the end of June.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is only available to a limited group of people. As well as having a place at Lincoln College, you must live in one of a few selected regions of England, which means the pool of applicants remains small. If you clearly meet the residence requirement and can demonstrate both good academic performance and a genuine financial need, your prospects are good. You can use the same form to apply for several other Lincoln College grants at the same time.
