About this scholarship
Millennium Bursary
You will receive a one-off award of about 890 EUR (£760) to provide financial support for a specific project or your final-year dissertation whilst you are studying. The money comes from Knutsford Town Council in collaboration with the Knutsford Lions, a local community organisation. It covers the additional costs of a specific academic project, but not your general living expenses.
Who can apply
- Where you live: You usually live in Knutsford or Toft in England.
- Level of study: You are undertaking a higher education course, i.e. a degree programme at a university or university of applied sciences.
- Study year: You started your second year of study last autumn.
- Field of study: Open to all subjects.
- What you need it for: You have a specific project or a final-year dissertation that could be funded by the prize.
How to apply
Please complete a short application form and include a statement of 200 words explaining how the award would benefit your course. The application period begins in October and ends on 31 January. Shortlisted applicants will then take part in a Zoom interview, after which the winner will be selected.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is very narrowly targeted. You must live in Knutsford or Toft and be in the second year of a university degree, meaning that very few people are eligible to apply at all. If you meet these criteria and can describe a clearly defined project or a dissertation that could be funded by this grant, your chances are good. A focused, specific 200-word explanation is more important here than a polished CV.
