About this scholarship

Borealis Social Scholarship at Webster Vienna

You will receive a scholarship that covers almost all of your tuition fees at Webster Vienna Private University in Austria. It can be renewed for up to four years, i.e. for the entire duration of a Bachelor’s degree programme. This is a means-tested scholarship for new Bachelor’s students, meaning it is aimed at students who are unable to afford the tuition fees themselves. It is funded by Borealis, a chemicals and polyolefins company. Only one student per academic year receives this scholarship.

Who can apply

  • Level: You are a newly admitted Bachelor’s student and are starting your first year of study at Webster Vienna.
  • Enrolment: You are enrolled on a full-time degree programme and are not taking a certificate course or an English preparatory course.
  • Grades: Your average mark is between 3.5 and 4.0 on the American 4.0 scale, which is close to top marks.
  • Financial need: You can prove that you are unable to pay the tuition fees from your own resources.
  • English: You have an advanced command of English or speak English at a native level.
  • Field of study: Open to all Bachelor’s degree programmes offered at Webster Vienna.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

First, apply for admission to a standard Bachelor’s degree programme at Webster Vienna. Once you have been admitted, request the online scholarship application form from the Admissions Office. The deadline is 31 May for the autumn intake and 30 November for the spring intake.

How realistic are your chances?

Only one student receives this award each year. Applicants must have a high grade point average and demonstrate financial need, which means the pool of eligible candidates remains small. Nevertheless, the fact that there is only one place available ensures fierce competition. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding grades and financial need, apply as soon as the application period opens.
