Denmark's Library Society - Denmark's Library Society's Foundation Abroad

What you get

You will receive a grant set case by case to fund a training course or a study trip related to library work. There is no fixed amount. Each year, the Foundation’s board distributes the surplus from that year amongst individuals it has selected. You apply with your own proposal and budget, so that the grant is tailored to your project. It is not paid out as a monthly sum. The Danish Library Association (Danmarks Biblioteksforening) established the foundation in 1988 to strengthen the Danish library sector.

Who can apply

• Your job: You work as a librarian in Denmark and would like to fund further training or professional development.
• Students: Library students can also apply, but get less than working librarians.
• Where you go: The training can take place in Denmark, or you can go on a study trip abroad.
• Your project: It must be related to library and information work.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

There is no application form. Please send a written application by email to the foundation. Please state the purpose of your project, the timeframe, a budget and any other funding you have applied for. The deadline for applications is 25 February.
