Merchant Sigurd Andersen's Scholarship Abroad

You will receive a one-off grant of at least 5,000 DKK (about 670 EUR) to continue your studies in economics in Denmark or abroad. Higher amounts are possible. The scholarship is awarded by U/NORD, the Danish school consortium comprising the business schools and business-focused upper secondary schools in Hillerød and Helsingør. It is awarded every year on 17 August, the birthday of the founder, the merchant Sigurd Johannes Andersen.

Who can apply

• Your earlier school: You have completed a commercial vocational training programme (merkantil erhvervsuddannelse) at Helsingør Handelsskole or Hillerød Handelsskole, or have passed the higher commercial examination (HHX) at Helsingør Handelsgymnasium or Hillerød Handelsgymnasium.
• What you study next: You will go on to undertake further education in the field of business, for example at a business school or a similar institution in Denmark or abroad.
• Grades and effort: Your results and performance in this previous course suggest that you are likely to successfully complete the next course.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.
• Local ties (priority): If you have commercial training and ties to the area of Helsingør Municipality once known as Tikøb Municipality (villages such as Tikøb, Hornbæk, Hellebæk, Espergærde and Snekkersten), you are given priority.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via U/NORD. The application period runs each year from 1 March to 31 May. The form will appear on the scholarship page as soon as the application round begins.
