About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant, usually amounting to about 1,340 EUR (10,000 DKK), to fund your further training in your trade. The Executive Committee determines the exact amount each year. As a rule, two craftspeople are supported each year. The money comes from the ‘Ringsted Industriforenings Jubilæumsfond’, a fund managed by the Craftsmen’s and Industrial Association for Ringsted and the Surrounding Area (Haandvaerker- & Industriforeningen for Ringsted og Omegn).

Who can apply

  • Trade background: You have completed a vocational training programme and hold a journeyman’s certificate (svendebrev, the Danish certificate confirming completion of your vocational training) or an equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Local link: You have completed an apprenticeship with a company in Ringsted or the surrounding area, or attended ZBC Ringsted (formerly EUC / Teknisk Skole Ringsted).
  • Current studies: You have started a further or higher education programme in your trade, for example training to become a building constructor or a plumbing installer.
  • Field: Any trade or profession is eligible.
  • Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The key factors are your local education and your connection to the school.

How to apply

Download the application form from the association’s website and complete it. Enclose a copy of your journeyman’s certificate or vocational school leaving certificate, as well as a letter from your school confirming that you are enrolled on a further education course. Please include a brief statement explaining your reasons for applying, as well as details of your financial situation. Please submit all documents by 1 December. The Executive Committee will review all applications in December and inform you of its decision directly.
