The Association Philadelphia grant

You will receive a one-off grant of 6,000 to 14,000 DKK (about 800 to 1,880 EUR, around 1,340 EUR on average) to cover your living costs, such as rent and day-to-day expenses. The grant is provided by the Philadelphia Society (Selskabet Philadelphia). Each year, the association awards around 60,000 DKK (approximately 8,050 EUR), which is divided amongst several students at the University of Copenhagen. The money is intended for living expenses whilst at home in Denmark. It does not cover travel or stays abroad.

Who can apply

• University: You are studying at the University of Copenhagen (Københavns Universitet).
• Study level: You are on a Master's programme (kandidat) and close to finishing it.
• Field of study: Open to all departments and faculties.
• Financial need: You are facing serious financial hardship, for example because you or a close relative is ill and you are struggling to make ends meet.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.

How to apply

You should apply by email, outlining your financial situation: your debts, housing costs and income. The call for applications is published every year in September on the website of the SU Office at the University of Copenhagen. The deadline for applications is 15 December.
