About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a one-off grant of 10,000 DKK (about 1,340 EUR) to help fund your further training in your trade. In most years, two tradespeople receive this grant. The association’s executive committee determines the exact amount each year. The money comes from the ‘Ringsted Industriforenings Jubilæumsfond’, a fund managed by the Trade and Industry Association for Ringsted and the Surrounding Area (Håndværker- & Industriforeningen for Ringsted og Omegn).
Who can apply
- Your training so far: You have completed vocational training and hold a journeyman’s certificate (svendebrev, the Danish certificate confirming completion of a trade apprenticeship) or an equivalent qualification from a vocational school.
- Local connection: You completed your apprenticeship at a workshop or an industrial company in the Ringsted area and/or attended ZBC Ringsted (formerly EUC / Teknisk Skole Ringsted).
- What you are doing now: You have started a further or higher education in your trade, for example training to become a building constructor or a plumbing (VVS) installer.
- Trade: Any trade or craft is eligible.
- Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. The key factors are where you undertook your training and your connection to the Ringsted region.
How to apply
Download the application form from the association’s website. Send it together with a copy of your journeyman’s certificate, proof from your current educational institution that you are enrolled on a further education course, and a short letter of motivation in which you describe your financial situation. Submit the documents by post or email by 1 December each year. The Executive Board meets in December and will inform you of its decision directly.
If you are pursuing further training in your trade, our guide Scholarships in Denmark may point you to additional funding options across Denmark.
