About this scholarship
Talent Attraction Scholarships of the University of Jaen
You will receive your full tuition covered for a Master’s programme at the University of Jaén in southern Spain. The main form of funding also includes an annual scholarship of 600 EUR. The university funds these scholarships to attract international students to its Master’s programmes. There are 30 places available per academic cycle, which are divided into two categories:
- Type A (20 places): All tuition fees, administrative fees and student insurance, as well as an annual scholarship of 600 EUR. You will also receive free Spanish lessons if you do not speak Spanish.
- Type B (10 places): The full tuition fees, as well as the costs associated with the recognition of your existing credit points and any additional training that may be required. Free Spanish courses are also provided, but no financial support is available.
The scholarship covers the entire duration of your Master’s programme, which lasts one year. To retain it, you must pass a sufficient number of your modules each year.
Who can apply
- Degree level: You would like to enrol on a Master’s programme at the University of Jaén and study full-time, aiming to earn at least 60 credit points per year.
- Previous studies: You hold a bachelor’s degree from a non-Spanish higher education institution which qualifies you for entry to a master’s programme, or you will have obtained this by 15 September of the year in which you commence your studies.
- Grades: Your average mark in your studies to date is at least 7 out of 10, or is equivalent to this. Selection is based primarily on this mark.
- Language: You can study in Spanish or English.
- Nationality: You are a national of a European Union country.
- Field of study: There is a wide range of Master’s degree programmes to choose from in Jaén, including engineering, chemistry, economics, computer science, languages, psychology and design.
How to apply
You apply online via the University of Jaén’s international scholarship portal and upload your documents, including your academic transcript, a CV and a personal statement. Before applying, please check the current call for applications to find out the exact application deadline.
How realistic are your chances?
As there are only 30 places available per cycle, the number of participants is limited. Places are allocated primarily on the basis of your average mark, so a performance that is significantly above the minimum threshold of 7 out of 10 is crucial. If you have a strong academic record and meet the criteria, your prospects are good.
