About this award / prize
UAM-Accenture Award for Economy and Innovation Management
You will receive a 5,000 EUR prize for outstanding, as yet unpublished research on the subject of innovation economics and management. This is a research prize, not a monthly scholarship: you will receive it for a piece of work that you have already written. It is awarded once a year by the Cátedra UAM-Accenture, a joint project between the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) in Spain and the consultancy firm Accenture. A topical theme is set for each edition, such as the impact of new technologies, robotics and artificial intelligence on employment.
Who can apply
- Who it is for: Researchers and scientists. This is an award for the scientific community, not a scholarship for students. Previous winners have come from universities across Europe.
- Field: Your contribution must address the economic and business management aspects of innovation and be relevant to the theme of the respective annual edition.
- Your paper: The text must be original and unpublished, and must be between 7,000 and 12,000 words in length. Please also submit a short summary of approximately 1,000 to 1,200 words.
- Language: Written in English.
- Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
- University: Open, no matter where you study or work.
How to apply
Please email your work to the UAM-Accenture Chair by 1 March. A jury comprising representatives from UAM and Accenture, as well as international researchers, will select a winner and announce the finalists.
How realistic are your chances?
As this is an annual prize awarded for a completed piece of research, the competition is extremely tough. Only one piece of work is awarded the prize, and the jury comprises renowned international researchers. Entries must relate to a specific annual theme and meet strict criteria regarding length and originality, meaning the field is more narrowly defined than in an open call for entries. If you have a well-researched, unpublished piece of research that closely matches the theme, it is well worth entering.
