University of Burgos - Support to students attending their degree-related training outside their place of main residence

What you get

You will receive a grant of up to 275 EUR per month for your work placement. This is intended to cover travel and accommodation costs if you undertake your compulsory work placement outside Burgos. The amount depends on how far the placement location is from Burgos or your parents’ home: up to 65 EUR per month for up to 25 km, up to 125 EUR per month for 26 to 60 km, up to 190 EUR per month for 61 to 100 km, and up to 275 EUR per month for more than 100 km. The amount also depends on the duration of the placement: For a duration of one week or less, a proportionate amount for 7 days will be paid; for 8 to 15 days, half a month’s allowance; and for 16 to 30 days, a full month’s allowance. The University of Burgos will cover the costs. The call for applications has a total budget of 6,900 EUR, which will be divided amongst all eligible applicants.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Burgos for the academic year 2025/2026.
• Degree level: You are studying for an official Bachelor’s (Grado) or Master’s degree (Master).
• Field of study: All subjects can apply.
• The placement: Your degree programme includes a compulsory work placement. You must undertake this outside the city of Burgos and away from your parents’ home.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

Complete and submit the online form on the University of Burgos website. You can submit it via the university’s online portal using a digital certificate or two-factor authentication, or hand it in at the university’s Enrolment Office. The deadline is 29 May 2026. A student committee will then assess the applications, taking into account the budget, the number of applications, and the location and duration of the respective work placements.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed at a small target group: you must already be enrolled at the University of Burgos and be required to undertake a compulsory work placement elsewhere. The fixed total amount of 6,900 EUR will be divided amongst all eligible applicants and not awarded to just a few. So, if you clearly meet the criteria and apply before the deadline, your chances are good.
