About this grant / loan

What the fee waiver gives you

At the Catholic University of Ávila (UCAV) in Spain, you will pay less tuition. If you have an officially certified disability of at least 33%, you will receive a reduction of 50% discount on the standard tuition fees for your degree programme. If your family holds a valid certificate as a large family (‘Familia Numerosa’, an official Spanish document for families with several children), you will also receive a discount; however, the UCAV does not specify a fixed percentage for this. This is not a monthly payment. The amount reduces the fees you are required to pay, and you can combine it with other forms of financial support, such as government grants from the Spanish Ministry of Education or the Junta de Castilla y León.

Who can apply

  • University: You are enrolled on a ‘Grado’ (Bachelor’s) degree programme or a ‘Master Universitario’ degree programme at the Catholic University of Ávila.
  • Field of study: Any subject.
  • Disability: To qualify for the 50% discount, you must have an officially certified disability of at least 33%.
  • Large family: To qualify for the multi-child discount, you must hold a valid ‘Familia Numerosa’ certificate.
  • Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

There is no separate application process. You claim the discount when you enrol during the standard enrolment period. Simply submit your supporting documentation: your disability card or a valid certificate confirming you have several children.

How realistic are your chances?

This is not a competition, but an automatic discount. If you are studying at UCAV and can provide the required certificate, you will receive the discount. Whether you meet the criteria depends solely on whether or not you can provide the relevant documents; therefore, it is virtually certain that an applicant who meets the criteria will receive the discount.
