About this award / prize

What you get

For your final-year project in engineering, you will win a cash prize from a total prize fund of 2,000 EUR. The money will be divided amongst several prizes: a first prize of 1,000 euros for the best project, and five second prizes of 200 euros each. The competition is organised by the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) in Pamplona in collaboration with CITI Navarra, the regional association of industrial engineers.

Who can apply

  • University: You study at UPNA's School of Industrial, Computing and Telecommunication Engineering (ETSIIIT) in Pamplona.
  • Your project: You have submitted your final-year dissertation (Trabajo Fin de Grado) in the relevant academic year and have successfully passed it.
  • Topic: Your project focuses on the fields of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, advanced manufacturing techniques, industrial design, big data, automation and robotics, or energy efficiency.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply, provided they are studying at the UPNA.

How to apply

Please submit your application to the University by 20 October. As part of the selection process, you will be required to defend your project in public and register with CITI Navarra.

How realistic are your chances?

This prize has strict eligibility criteria: only engineering students at UPNA who have already passed their final-year dissertation in the relevant subject area are eligible to enter, so the pool of entrants is small. If your project fits one of the listed topics and you are prepared to defend it in public, your chances are good. As there is a first prize and five smaller prizes, several students win every year, not just one.
