Institut Químic de Sarrià - Academic Excellence Scholarship

Benefit

You get a tuition waiver of up to 50% of your fees, capped at the cost of 30 ECTS credits (one academic year's worth of study). This is a fee reduction, not cash paid to you. The better your entry grade, the higher the percentage. It is awarded by IQS (Institut Quimic de Sarria), part of the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona, to new bachelor's students with the strongest school results.

Eligibility

• Study level: You are starting a bachelor's degree at IQS as a first-year student.
• Field of study: Open to all IQS bachelor programmes, including biotechnology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, biomedical sciences, marketing, international business, business administration, applied mathematics and the double degrees.
• Residence: You live in Spain or Andorra.
• Grades: You need a weighted average of at least 8.5 out of 10 from your school-leaving qualification and the Spanish university entrance exam (PAU). The size of the waiver rises with your average.
• Admission: You are already pre-registered and admitted to an IQS bachelor programme before you apply.

How to apply

Apply online through the IQS campus portal once you have been admitted to a degree. For the 2026-27 year the window runs from 1 April 2026 to 8 July 2026, in several rounds with a decision after each one. If you apply for the Pharmacy degree, which IQS runs jointly with Blanquerna, contact the IQS secretariat directly instead.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is limited to students living in Spain or Andorra with excellent grades, which keeps the pool small. If your weighted entry grade is at or above 8.5 out of 10, you are in a strong position for a meaningful percentage. Applying in an early round helps, since decisions are made round by round.
