About this scholarship

CEU Merit Program at Abat Oliba CEU University

You get your tuition fees waived at this private university in Barcelona. You receive either a full 100% waiver (Beca CEU Merit Program 100) or a 75% reduction. The selection committee decides which of the two you get, based on your application. The award runs for the whole standard length of your bachelor's degree. It renews automatically each year, as long as you keep meeting the required grades. The university hands out more than 80 of these awards across all its bachelor's programmes.

Who can apply

  • Study level: You are applying to start a bachelor's degree (Grado). You must apply before you begin, not during your studies.
  • Field of study: Open to all bachelor's programmes at the university.
  • School results: You have excellent grades. This is the key requirement, and the committee ranks candidates against each other.
  • Nationality: Both Spanish and international students can apply. Spanish applicants need a Bachillerato or CFGS qualification (an upper-secondary or higher vocational diploma). International students apply through a separate variant with its own deadline.
  • Family income: Your family's income is taken into account, but you do not need to prove financial hardship.
  • Extras (optional): Language certificates, a research project from your final school years, social or extracurricular activities and recommendation letters can strengthen your case. None of these are required.

How to apply

First start your admission application through the university's admission portal. Then submit the scholarship request through the student intranet. For Spanish applicants in 2026/27 there are two rounds: a deadline of 18 February (results on 2 March) and a deadline of 18 May (results on 2 June). International applicants apply by 28 May, with results on 6 June.

How realistic are your chances?

With more than 80 awards each year across every degree, this is a sizeable programme. But the committee ranks candidates mainly on grades and gives the full waiver only to the strongest. If your school results are clearly excellent, your prospects for at least the 75% reduction are solid. Applying in the first round gives you an answer before your final exams, which is the main advantage of applying early.
