Balearic Islands mobility top-up grant

You will receive up to 1,200 EUR as a one-off supplementary grant for one academic year (2025–2026). To receive this grant, you must leave your island to complete part of your studies at a university in Spain or another EU 27 country as part of an official exchange programme. The funding comes from the Government of the Balearic Islands. It is awarded in addition to your regular exchange grant, such as your Erasmus+ payment. It applies to students taking part in Erasmus+ (study or placement), SICUE (an exchange programme between Spanish universities) or the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion programme (studying in the French region of Occitanie, in Catalonia or in the Balearic Islands).

Who can apply

• Home base: Your family home is in the Balearic Islands.
• Degree: You are enrolled in an official bachelor's degree (grau) at a public Spanish university.
• You move: You are leaving the island where you live to take part in the exchange programme.
• Exchange programme: You are taking part in the Erasmus+, SICUE or Euroregion programme and are completing part of your studies at a higher education institution in Spain or another EU 27 country. Places on these programmes are allocated through a selection process.
• Grades: You meet the minimum marks specified in the call for applications.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.

How to apply

You submit your application online via the CAIB’s electronic portal (Seu Electrònica). You log in using a digital certificate, an electronic identity card (DNI) or a cl@ve permanente. The deadline is 24 July 2026 at 13:00. You must submit the application yourself. If someone else submits it on your behalf, they will need a formal power of attorney.

How realistic are your chances?

This grant is aimed at a limited group of people. You must live in the Balearic Islands and have already secured a place on an exchange programme through a selection process, meaning that only a small number of people are eligible. If you clearly meet the criteria and have secured your place on the exchange programme, your chances are good. It is advisable to apply early within the application period.
