About this scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off payment of 2,828 EUR for one academic year if you commence a Bachelor’s degree programme at the University of Zaragoza in Spain with outstanding grades. This amount is paid in addition to your enrolment fee and does not cover your tuition fees. Every year, the University of Zaragoza awards 10 of these scholarships, which are divided equally amongst five faculties (Humanities, Natural Sciences, Health Sciences, Social Sciences and Law, and Engineering and Architecture), with 2 going to each faculty. You may renew the scholarship for each subsequent academic year, provided you maintain a grade point average of at least 8.0 and enrol for at least 60 ECTS credits each year.

Who can apply

  • Degree level: You are enrolling for the first time on an official Bachelor’s degree programme (Grado) at the University of Zaragoza.
  • Enrolment: You study full time.
  • Entrance exam: You passed the compulsory part of the Spanish university entrance examination (PAU) for the first time in the academic year 2025–2026.
  • Grades: You have an admission mark of at least 9.0 out of 14. This is made up of 60% from your school average (Bachillerato) and 40% from your PAU result. In each subject area, the 2 highest marks receive the scholarships.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects, organised into the five subject areas.
  • Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply; they simply need to be enrolled at the University of Zaragoza.
  • Family income: Your family’s income must not exceed five times the government’s annual threshold for student grants. The committee may ask you to provide proof of your income.

How to apply

Please complete the application form, sign it and then submit it via the university’s online portal. The application deadline is 18 September. Selection is carried out automatically: within each department, the two applicants with the highest admission marks will be offered a place.

How realistic are your chances?

There are only 10 scholarships – 2 per department – and these are awarded exclusively to the applicants with the highest entrance examination marks; so you’ll need to be amongst the very best in your department. The requirement for a mark of at least 9.0 out of 14 already narrows down the field, but competition amongst students with high marks is fierce. If your entrance exam score is well above 9.0 and your family income falls within the upper limit, your prospects are good.
