About this scholarship
What you get
The University of Valencia will cover your tuition fees for the 2025-2026 academic year. This is a fee waiver rather than a monthly cash payment, so you will not pay anything for the credit points you have earned. The average benefit is around 1,500 EUR and applies for one academic year.
If you are enrolled on a bachelor’s or dual degree programme, all credits from your first and second enrolments will be transferred up to the maximum limit set by the university. For official Master’s programmes, credits from your first enrolment will be transferred; for professionally qualifying Master’s programmes, credits from your second enrolment will also be transferred. Administrative costs such as the student ID card, the creation of a personal file and student insurance are not included.
Who can apply
- University: You are enrolled in the 2025–2026 academic year at one of the University of Valencia’s own campuses, not at an affiliated institution.
- Level: You are enrolled on a Bachelor’s, dual degree or official Master’s programme. This also includes dual and inter-university Master’s programmes for which you pay your tuition fees in Valencia. Doctoral students and those enrolled on privately run degree programmes are not eligible to apply.
- Field of study: Any subject.
- No higher degree yet: You do not yet hold a qualification that is equivalent to or higher than the one you are aiming for.
- Nationality: You are a Spanish national or a national of another EU country. If you are from a country outside the EU, you will need a valid residence permit.
- Residence: You are officially registered (empadronado, i.e. entered in the local register of residents) in a municipality in the Region of Valencia for the entire application period and the whole academic year.
- Financial need: Your household income for the tax year 2024 is below the specified thresholds, for example around 22,600 EUR for a single person or around 55,300 EUR for a four-person household.
- Grades: There is no minimum entry mark for first-year students. From the second year onwards, you must have achieved a specified proportion of the credit points from the previous year (between 50% and 70%, depending on your subject area). Applicants for a Master’s programme must, depending on the Master’s programme, have a grade point average of at least 5 or 6 points from their previous degree.
- No double funding: You have not received any funding for that year from either the Spanish Ministry of Education or the Generalitat Valenciana, and you do not have a full exemption from fees.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via the University of Valencia’s electronic portal (entreu.uv.es) under ‘Solicitudes Estudiantes’. The application deadline is 09.05. A selection committee will assess the applications, and the Vice-Rectorate for Academic Affairs will make the final decision.
How realistic are your chances?
This grant is aimed at students in Valencia with genuine financial need who are not eligible for the Ministry’s main grant or regional grants. The income thresholds here are broader than those for those programmes, ensuring that this specific group of people is targeted. If you are studying at an institution in Valencia, meet the income thresholds and have achieved the required number of credit points, you fit a fairly specific profile and have good prospects. The funds come from a fixed budget and are awarded on a competitive basis, so a well-substantiated demonstration of need is most helpful.
