About this scholarship

ESU Verona scholarship (Academy of Fine Arts and Conservatory of Music)

You will receive an annual grant. The amount depends on how far you live from your university and how low your family’s income is. Students who move out of their parents’ home receive the highest grant; commuters or students who live locally receive less. Part of the grant may be paid in cash. Part may be provided as a meal or accommodation allowance if you use the ESU canteen or a student hall of residence. The grant is paid for the standard duration of your studies. You can extend it as long as you continue to meet the study requirements. It is funded by ESU Verona, the regional authority for the right to higher education, on behalf of the Veneto Region.

Who can apply

  • Where you study: You are enrolled at the ‘G.B. Cignaroli’ Academy of Fine Arts or the ‘E.F. Dall’Abaco’ Conservatoire of Music in Verona. Students at the University of Verona should apply to the university rather than here.
  • Field of study: All degree programmes at these two institutions, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, single-cycle Master’s, PhD and specialisation programmes.
  • Timing: You are within the standard number of semesters for your degree programme; for example, up to 7 for a Bachelor’s degree programme and up to 5 for a Master’s degree programme.
  • Financial need: Your household income indicator (ISEE) is no more than 26,306.25 euros. Your asset indicator (ISPE) is no more than 42,530.50 euros.
  • Study progress: You must earn a specified minimum number of ECTS credits each year. First-year students must have earned 20 credits by the deadlines set out in the course description.
  • Nationality: The degree programme is open to students from both the EU and non-EU countries on equal terms. Students from non-EU countries must submit an adjusted ISEE (ISEE parificato) issued by an authorised CAF office.

How to apply

Apply online via the ESU Verona Sportello portal by 30 September at 12:00. You must already be enrolled and have paid your fees by this date. Submit your ISEE income details together with your application. The ranking lists of eligible students will be published in the autumn.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is aimed exclusively at students from two specific institutions in Verona, who must also meet certain income thresholds, meaning that the group of eligible applicants is small. If you are studying at the Academy or the Conservatoire, meet the requirements regarding credit points and semesters, and can prove that your income is below the specified thresholds, your chances are good. Apply by the deadline in September and have your ISEE certificate to hand, as payment is contingent upon proof of eligibility.
