About this scholarship

The Professor Frank Wallace Scholarship

You will receive a sum of one-off 5,750 EUR (£5,000), which will be deducted directly from your tuition fees for a Master’s degree programme at the University of Bath in the UK. A scholarship is available. It applies to either the MSc in ‘Automotive Engineering with Business Management’ or the MSc in ‘Automotive Engineering with Electrical Propulsion’. The scholarship is funded by the family of Professor Frank Wallace, who held the Chair of Mechanical Engineering at Bath until 1989.

Who can apply

  • Where you live: You are in the People’s Republic of China.
  • Course: You are enrolled on the Master’s programme in ‘Automotive Engineering with Business Administration’ or the Master’s programme in ‘Automotive Engineering with Electric Propulsion’ in Bath, which begins in 2026.
  • Offer: You have already received an offer of a place on one of these degree programmes and have accepted it. This applies to both conditional and unconditional offers.

How to apply

Firstly, you will need to be admitted to one of the two eligible degree programmes. You will then need to complete the University of Bath scholarship form via the Online Application Tracker and answer three questions. The application deadline for the September 2026 intake has now passed, and the next round has not yet been announced.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly targeted: there is only one scholarship, which is exclusively for applicants from China and is limited to just two specific Master’s programmes in automotive engineering at the University of Bath. This means the pool of eligible applicants remains small, so a well-suited applicant who has already received and accepted an offer of admission has a genuine chance of success. As there is only one scholarship available, you should keep an eye out for the opening of the next application period, as the round in September 2026 has already closed.
