France Excellence Chine scholarship

You will receive a monthly scholarship of 750 EUR to study at a state university in France for a period of up to 36 months. The scholarship is primarily intended to support a Master’s degree programme. It is a scholarship offered by the French government, administered by the French Embassy in China in collaboration with the Institut Français de Chine, and forms part of France’s official support for Chinese students wishing to study in France.

Who can apply

• Nationality: You are a Chinese student. This scholarship is open exclusively to applicants from China.
• Where you study: You are studying at a state university or higher education institution in France.
• Level: You are studying for a Master’s degree.
• Field of study: You are studying law, economics, social sciences or natural sciences.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via Campus France China, which processes the applications for each round. The application deadline is 5 April.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly targeted. Only Chinese students who wish to undertake a degree programme in specific subject areas at a public French university are eligible to apply, meaning that the pool of eligible candidates is smaller than for open scholarships. In a recent round of awards, more than 100 students and teaching staff received funding, which improves your chances. If you clearly meet the requirements regarding subject area and level and submit your application by the deadline, your prospects are good.
