About this scholarship

International Master's Scholarships (Université Paris-Saclay)

You get 10,000 EUR per year to study for a master's degree at the Université Paris-Saclay in France. It is paid in monthly instalments of about 1,000 EUR from September to June. You can also claim up to 900 EUR once a year towards travel and visa costs, depending on which country you come from. The university helps you with the paperwork for your visa and residence permit and with finding somewhere to live. If you start in the first master's year (M1) and pass all your credits, the scholarship renews automatically for a second year, so it can run up to 24 months. It is funded by the university itself through its IDEX excellence programme. Note that the award does not cover your tuition or enrolment fees.

Who can apply

  • Nationality: You hold any nationality other than French.
  • University place: You have been admitted to a master's programme at Université Paris-Saclay or one of its member schools (AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, INSTN-CEA, IOGS, Université Évry Paris-Saclay, UVSQ).
  • Field of study: Any subject counts, except vocational apprenticeship courses ("formations en apprentissage").
  • Level: Both the first (M1) and second (M2) master's year are eligible.
  • First time in France: This is your first enrolment at a French higher education institution. Past exchanges, internships, language courses or an Erasmus Mundus joint master without a French degree do not count against you.
  • Age: You are under 30 during the year you apply.
  • Other funding: You do not already receive another grant above 600 EUR per month. You also cannot combine this award with France Excellence Eiffel, France Excellence Europa or Erasmus Mundus scholarships.

How to apply

First apply to a Paris-Saclay master's programme and get admitted before the scholarship deadline. Programme coordinators then pre-select candidates. If pre-selected, you receive an emailed link to the online scholarship form, and you may need two online references. For the 2026-2027 year, coordinator pre-selection closes on 25 March 2026, and the scholarship form and reference letters are due 31 March 2026. Results come in mid-May. A jury assesses your academic record, your personal project and, for M2 applicants, your motivation to go on to a PhD.

How realistic are your chances?

The award is tied to admission at a specific set of Paris-Saclay schools and adds hard filters on age, first-time enrolment in France and no other major funding. So the eligible pool is narrower than for open scholarships. It clearly favours strong applicants who want to continue to a PhD. If you fit those conditions, get admitted early and can show a convincing academic and research plan, your prospects are good.
