DMU Square Mile International Scholarship

The full tuition fees for a one-year Master’s programme were covered. In addition, you received about 930 EUR per month (800 GBP) for 12 months, as well as a pre-booked return economy-class flight between your home country and the UK. The award was presented by De Montfort University in Leicester, England. It was linked to the university’s ‘Square Mile’ programme, which brings students together with local voluntary and community projects. Only one student was selected per round.

Who could apply

• Degree: You have started a one-year Master’s degree at De Montfort University.
• Admission: You have already received an offer of a place on one of the eligible Master’s programmes.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality were eligible to apply, provided they were classified as international students and paid the tuition fees applicable to international students.
• Grades: You have achieved excellent results at school.
• Community work: You could demonstrate a genuine commitment to local communities, for example by doing voluntary work.
• Funding: You covered the costs yourself. Anyone who was sponsored was not eligible to take part.

How to apply

They completed an online application form for the programme by the end of June. A university panel selected the winner and notified them in writing by the end of July. The prize was valid only for students starting their studies in September or October and could not be carried over to a later year.
