What you get

If you study agricultural sciences for one or two semesters at a partner university abroad, you will receive a fixed travel grant of around 410 EUR. This is a one-off lump sum to cover your airfare, which your French university will pay out once you have submitted your travel receipts. You may be eligible for additional funding if your exchange leads to a double degree. The partner university where you are studying will also award you a separate grant to cover your living costs. The exchange lasts for up to 12 months. The French Ministry of Agriculture (MASA) runs the programme in collaboration with partner organisations in South America to build lasting relationships between French and South American agricultural colleges.

Who can apply

• Where you study now: You are enrolled at a French agricultural college.
• Your programme: You are enrolled on the Agricultural Engineering (Engineering) or Veterinary Medicine (Veterinaire) degree programme.
• Field of study: Agricultural sciences, food sciences or veterinary medicine.
• Where you go: A partner university abroad that is affiliated with your French school.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality may apply, provided they are attending a recognised French school.
• Selection: The joint selection committee must select your school’s exchange project.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via your own French school. Your school coordinates the exchange projects and submits them to the joint selection committee. The committee regularly issues calls for proposals and decides which projects will receive funding.

How realistic are your chances?

This funding scheme is highly selective. You must already be studying at a French agricultural college, be enrolled on an engineering or veterinary medicine degree programme, and wish to study at a specific partner university abroad. This keeps the pool of applicants small. If you meet these requirements and your college supports your project, your chances are good. Check with your school’s International Office well in advance to find out when the next call for applications will be.
