Medical Fund, University of Helsinki - Scholarship

What you get

You will receive a one-off grant of up to 11,000 EUR for your medical studies at University of Helsinki in Finland. You must use the money within three years of the grant being awarded. It comes from the University of Helsinki funds, a group of over 350 endowment funds which, together, award around 400,000 EUR in grants each year.

Who can apply

• University: You are studying at the University of Helsinki.
• Field of study: You study human medicine.
• Level: You are a Master’s student.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. The key requirement is that you are studying at the University of Helsinki.
• Grades and progress: Your credits and marks are taken into account, relative to the duration of your degree programme.
• Research and activity: Your research plan, your research work and other study-related activities will also be taken into account.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted via the University of Helsinki’s funding portal, which is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. The 2026 round runs from 14 January to 6 February 2026, 23:59. You will be notified of the decision personally by the end of April.
