Jubilee Fund travel grant (University of Helsinki)

You get a one-time payment of up to 3,000 EUR for a study trip abroad that you organise yourself. The smallest grants start at 1,000 EUR. The money comes from the Jubilee Fund of the University of Helsinki, which supports students going abroad. Your trip must last at least 1 month. You have up to three years from the award date to use the grant.

Who can apply

• University: You are enrolled at the University of Helsinki.
• Level: You are a Bachelor’s student.
• Field of study: Any subject.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Your trip: You plan the trip yourself, outside the university's exchange programmes or partner agreements. It lasts at least 1 month. You explain where you go, how long you stay and how it fits your studies.
• Study progress: Your credits and marks are weighted in relation to the duration of your studies, so making good academic progress is to your advantage.
• Not a university employee: If you are employed by the University of Helsinki, you are not usually eligible for this grant.

How to apply

You should apply via the University of Helsinki’s funding portal in Finnish, Swedish or English, and attach a PDF file containing your academic transcript. For the 2026 round, you should apply between 14 January and 6 February 2026. Decisions will be made by the end of April, and each applicant will be notified personally.
