Fund of Oulu Chamber of Commerce grant

You will receive a one-off grant to support your economic research at the University of Oulu in Finland. The grant will be paid as a one-off lump sum. The exact amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis and will not be disclosed in advance. By way of comparison: in recent funding rounds, grants from the same foundation ranged from approximately 3,000 EUR to 8,500 EUR. The funds come from an endowment fund named after the Oulu Chamber of Commerce. This is one of 25 funds managed by the University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation (Oulun yliopiston tukisäätiö), which award a total of between 150,000 EUR and 250,000 EUR annually, primarily for research and doctoral theses.

Who can apply

• Level: You are a Master’s student writing a dissertation in economics, or you are a researcher in this field.
• Field of study: You work in the field of economics.
• University: You are a researcher at the University of Oulu.
• Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
• Grades: Applicants are assessed on the basis of their academic performance, so good grades will improve your chances.

How to apply

You apply through the foundation's online grant system. Fill in the application form and attach a short outline of your planned work plus your CV. Calls for master's thesis grants open several times a year, with a deadline in early February for this fund. The foundation's executive committee decides who receives a grant.
