AUP Tuition Awards

At the American University of Paris (AUP), an English-speaking liberal arts university in Paris, you will receive up to 50% off your tuition fees. The scholarship is applied directly to your tuition fees rather than being paid out in cash, and amounts to an average of around 1,160 EUR. For most scholarship recipients, around a third of their tuition fees are covered. You can renew the scholarship each year for up to three years (36 months) of your undergraduate degree. AUP awards over 6 million euros in funding each year, and around half of all students receive financial support.

Who can apply

• Degree level: You have been admitted to a bachelor’s degree programme at AUP or are already enrolled there.
• Field of study: Open to all subjects.
• Nationality: Applicants of any nationality are welcome to apply. US citizens and those with permanent residence status must also submit the FAFSA application, the form for state student grants in the USA.
• Financial need: You can prove that you and your family are unable to pay the full amount of the tuition fees.
• Grades: scholarships take into account both academic performance and financial need. If you are already studying at the AUP and did not receive a scholarship upon admission, you can still apply provided you have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
• Keeping the award: To renew your full-time student status each year, you need a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.

How to apply

When you complete your application for admission to the AUP, please answer ‘Yes’ to the question about financial support. You will then receive a link to your application status page. Open the section on financial support, complete the online form and upload evidence of your financial circumstances. Applying for financial support will not affect the admission decision. If you are already studying at the AUP, please submit your application before the first day of classes.

How realistic are your chances?

These scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and are open to students of all disciplines and nationalities, meaning that the pool of applicants is very diverse. However, the AUP funds a large proportion of its students, and around half receive financial support. If you can clearly demonstrate a genuine financial need and have good academic results, your chances are good. Please complete the financial support application form well in advance, as the offer in your letter of acceptance may be subject to a time limit.
