Meyer Foundation Project Grants

You will receive a one-off grant of roughly 100 EUR to 2,000 EUR towards the purchase or repair of an instrument, or towards the purchase of computer or digital equipment for your studies. The exact amount is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on your financial circumstances and the specific project. For scholarships linked to outstanding academic achievement, the amount may be higher. The funds come from the Meyer Foundation, a family foundation that has been supporting music students at the Conservatoire de Paris since 1995. You may receive this grant alongside French government funding (CROUS) and other private funding. You may also submit more than one application for a single costly project.

Who can apply

• Where you study: You are enrolled as a student at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP).
• Field of study: You’re studying a music subject.
• Your project: You need to buy an instrument, have an instrument thoroughly repaired, or purchase computer or digital equipment for your studies.
• Nationality: Applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply. Exchange students, for example those participating in the Erasmus+ programme, are not eligible to apply and should contact their home university instead.
• How you are judged: The committee will take into account your financial situation, your family circumstances, your grades and your attendance record, as well as the extent to which the project is relevant to your degree programme.

How to apply

You apply online via your digital student portal (ENT) under the ‘Aides privées’ (private grants) section, using the form and the required supporting documents. The call for applications usually begins in January, and the deadline for applications is 28.04. An internal committee then decides on each application.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is very narrowly defined. You must already be studying at a specific school and have a genuine, specific need for an instrument or piece of equipment, which is why very few people apply. If you are enrolled at the conservatoire, can demonstrate the need and submit a project that clearly ties in with your studies, your chances are good. A well-documented justification for a specific purchase counts for more than a polished presentation.
