About this scholarship
Occitanie merit grant for health and social care students
You will receive 900 EUR per study year, which will be paid to you in a single payment in addition to your monthly French social grant (the ‘bourse sur critères sociaux’, a means-tested grant). You can receive this grant for up to 3 years. The money comes from the Occitanie region in southern France. It is awarded to pupils who have passed the ‘Baccalauréat’, the French A-level equivalent, with top marks.
Who can apply
- Field of study: You are undertaking training in a state-recognised healthcare or social care profession, for example as a nurse, midwife, physiotherapist, radiography assistant, social worker or special needs teacher.
- Where you study: Your school or training centre is recognised by the Occitanie region.
- Level: Your degree programme is a post-baccalaureate programme (university level).
- Social scholarship: You are already in receipt of a French means-tested grant (bourse sur critères sociaux) for the same year. This is a mandatory requirement.
- School results: You passed your final A-levels with the distinction ‘mention très bien’ (the highest grade).
- Nationality: Any nationality can apply.
- Age: There is no minimum or maximum age.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted online via the region’s form between 1 September and 31 October of each academic year. You must first be in receipt of the social scholarship for the relevant year or have applied for it, as this is a prerequisite for this funding. The region will then review your documents and make a decision.
