Women Techmakers Scholars Program

What you get

You get 7,000 EUR (or the local equivalent) for the 2025-2026 academic year to help fund your bachelor's studies. You also join a global network of women working in technology, which gives you contacts, visibility and support. The scholarship comes from Google and runs in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (the EMEA region) through the Institute of International Education.

Who can apply

• Gender: You are a woman.
• Study level: You are a full-time bachelor's student.
• Field of study: You study computer science, computer engineering or a closely related technical subject.
• Where you study: Your university is accredited and located in Europe, the Middle East or Africa.
• Timing: You are enrolled in 2024-2025 and plan to stay in a bachelor's programme in this region in 2025-2026.
• Financial need: You need financial help to pay for your studies.
• Strengths: You show leadership and strong academic results.
• Not eligible: Children of Google employees, and anyone who already received an earlier Google scholarship, cannot apply.

How to apply

You apply online through the IIE portal. You submit your CV, transcripts, two recommendation letters and short essay answers. The deadline is 14 August 2025, or sooner if 1,250 eligible applications arrive first, so apply early. Recommendation letters are due by 18 August 2025.

How realistic are your chances?

This award targets one group: women studying computer science across a wide EMEA region. That makes the field narrower than an open scholarship, but still large. Applications close once 1,250 eligible ones arrive, so a complete application sent early protects your chances. If you clearly fit the field and can show both leadership and financial need, your prospects are solid.
