What the scholarship gives you

The fee for the IE Northwestern Executive LL.M. is up to 30% off your tuition. This is a nine-month part-time programme in law. It is jointly offered by the IE Law School in Madrid and the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago and is taught in English, combining face-to-face and online sessions. Tuition fees amount to 43,000 EUR, meaning that the highest scholarship covers approximately 13,000 EUR. You will be awarded an LL.M. degree from Northwestern and a certificate in Law and Business from IE, which may qualify you to sit the California Bar Exam. Several of these partial scholarships are available for each intake; none of them cover the full tuition fees.

Who can apply

• Programme: You are applying for the IE Northwestern Executive LL.M., not for any other IE programme.
• Admission first: Your place at university must be confirmed before the committee can consider your application for the scholarship.
• Background: You are a lawyer and hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Nationality: You can apply from any country.
• Merit and need: You will be assessed on the basis of your performance in the admissions process and your professional achievements. Your financial situation also plays a role. Where two applicants are equally qualified, preference will be given to the one with the greatest need.

How to apply

You must apply for financial support separately using the IE’s online form. Applications are not considered automatically. You may submit your application as soon as your application for admission has been received, but the committee will not review it until you have been admitted. The deadline is 1 July, and you must have already been admitted to the programme by that date.

How realistic are your chances?

This scholarship is restricted to a specific programme, so only those who have already been admitted to the IE Northwestern Executive LL.M. programme may apply. With a strong professional background and a demonstrable financial need, your chances of securing one of the several partial scholarships are quite good. Enrol on the programme and submit your application for financial support in good time before the deadline on 1 July.
