University College Cork - THE JAMES AND MARY HOGAN PRIZE IN HISTORY

The James and Mary Hogan Prize in History

You receive a one-off cash prize of 250 EUR for the best seminar dissertation in History written for your final BA (Hons) degree examination at University College Cork (UCC). A seminar dissertation is a longer research paper you write as part of your honours degree. The judges look for your own research and fresh thinking, backed by a wide and well-developed grasp of history. The prize is funded by the family and friends of James Hogan, who taught History at UCC from 1920 to 1963, in memory of him and his wife Mary, with extra support from a bequest by the late Tomás O'Laidhin.
