University College Cork - Quercus College Scholarship (CACSSS) at University College Cork

Quercus College Scholarship (CACSSS) at University College Cork

You receive a medal and the title "Quercus College Scholar", with your subject added (for example Arts, Social Sciences, Music, Applied Psychology, Early Years and Childhood Studies, Drama and Theatre Studies, or Sports Studies and Physical Education). This is an honour for top exam results, not a cash grant. The College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences (CACSSS) at University College Cork (UCC) awards it at a college ceremony.

Who can apply

• University: You study full-time at University College Cork, in a programme run by the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences.
• Still enrolled: You are registered in the year straight after the exams the award is based on. Final-year students cannot get it.
• Grades: You reach first class honours overall in last year's exams, meaning at least 840 out of 1,200 marks.
• First attempt: You pass the summer exams on your first try. Exceptions apply only with permission from the University Mitigation Committee, for example after a certified serious, long illness.
• Which year counts: Second-year medals are based on first-year exams, third-year medals on second-year exams, and so on.

How to apply

There is no application. Each year the college awards the medals automatically to the highest-scoring student in each year of each programme, based on the summer exam results.
