University College Cork - BT Young Scientist and Technology Scholarship

BT Young Scientist Scholarship at University College Cork

If you have won the ‘BT Young Scientist and Technology Competition’, University College Cork (UCC) will cover your enrolment fee for the first year of study up to a maximum of 2,138 EUR. This is a one-off payment that applies exclusively to the first year of study. Runners-up will also receive support: the runner-up in the overall ranking of the ‘Senior Groups’ category and the runner-up in the overall ranking of the ‘Senior Individuals’ category will each receive half of the fee. UCC will pay out the prize itself.

Who can apply

• The prize: You were the overall winner of the BT Young Scientist and Technology Competition, either on your own or as a member of a winning team. The year you won does not matter. Half-awards go to the senior-level runners-up (group or individual).
• Your place at UCC: You have a confirmed place on a full-time Bachelor’s degree programme at UCC and are enrolled for your first year of study.
• Field of study: Every bachelor’s degree awarded by UCC is recognised.
• Nationality: All nationalities can apply.

How to apply

There is no lengthy application process. Please write to the UCC Office for Scholarships and Awards by the first day of the semester at the latest. Confirm that you have been offered a place at university and enclose proof that you have won the competition. The office will then contact the successful students directly.
