Futura award for young South Tyroleans

You will receive a one-off prize of 7,777 EUR. Three prizes are awarded per round, meaning that up to three people can win. You will also benefit from the public attention your work receives and gain access to ‘Südstern’, a network of South Tyroleans living abroad, including an appearance at its annual event in December. The prize was established in 1990 by the South Tyrolean Hotel and Restaurant Association (HGV) and Athesia Publishers. It is awarded every two years to young people from South Tyrol who have distinguished themselves abroad in business, academia or culture.

Who can apply

• Where you are from: You’re from South Tyrol, the northern Italian province of Bolzano.
• Age: As you did not submit 35 by the deadline, you were born in the year 1991 or later.
• Working abroad: You have worked abroad or outside the Trentino-South Tyrol region for at least three years.
• Field: You work in business, academia or the cultural sector.
• Studies: You’ve finished your degree.
• Achievement: You achieve excellent results both in training and at work.
• Tie to home: You have a personal connection to South Tyrol.
• Number of tries: You may apply a maximum of two times in total.

How to apply

Please send your application form, a CV with a photograph, copies of your certificates and any publications by 31 August 2026 by post or email to the HGV office in Bolzano. A panel of experts will review the applications and select the winners.

How realistic are your chances?

This award is presented on a highly selective basis. Candidates must be from South Tyrol, be under the age of 35, and have a track record of several years’ outstanding work abroad, meaning that only a few people meet the criteria. Only three prizes are awarded per round, ensuring that competition remains fierce and that a proven track record is the deciding factor. If you meet all the criteria and can demonstrate tangible results, you stand a real chance.
