About this award / prize

What you get

You will receive a one-off cash prize of 900 EUR net for completing your degree at the University of Cagliari with outstanding results. The University funds this award each year from its own budget and awards a fixed number of prizes: 16 for the very best graduates and 124 for students who have completed their degree on time (within the standard duration of study). You do not need to repay this amount. It is a reward for achievements already made and does not constitute ongoing monthly financial support.

Who can apply

  • University: You completed your degree at the University of Cagliari in the academic year 2023/24.
  • Field of study: Open to all subjects.
  • Nationality: All nationalities welcome.
  • Grades: To qualify for the 16 prizes for the ‘top graduate’, you need a final grade of at least 107/110. To be eligible for the 124 prizes for ‘graduates who complete their studies on time’, you need a minimum of 105/110.
  • Timing: You have completed your degree within the standard duration of study. Part-time students who took longer to complete their degree are not eligible to apply. Full-time students who are considered ‘top graduates’ must have completed their degree by December 2024.
  • First degree of this level: You must not already hold a university degree at the same or a higher level.
  • No shortened path: You must not have been awarded any credit points from previous stages of your degree programme that have resulted in a reduction in the duration of your degree programme.

How to apply

There is no application form. The university compiles the ranking list automatically based on its own records and publishes a provisional list of successful applicants as well as a list of those who have been rejected. Should you notice a factual error in your case, you may report this by email to the Student Administration Office by 20 November. The final ranking list will then be published on the degree programme’s webpage.

How realistic are your chances?

As this is not a competitive selection process, there is nothing to ‘win’. The prizes are awarded according to ranking, and with a total of 140 prizes across both lists, the pool for graduates from Cagliari is quite large. If your final mark exceeds the threshold of 105/110 or 107/110 and you have completed your degree on time without having previously obtained a degree or followed an accelerated programme, you are likely already on the list. The most important thing you can do is to check the provisional ranking list and report any errors before the deadline.
