About this scholarship
What you get
You will receive a sum of one-off cash payment from the University of Bologna towards your degree in Industrial Chemistry (Chimica Industriale). A typical payment is around 597 EUR, although the amount is not fixed. It comes from a fund set aside for your year group. The exact amount depends on your gender, your ISEE (the Italian indicator of household income) and the number of eligible students. Female students with an ISEE of 33,000 EUR or less will receive 90% of the maximum amount for their degree programme; male students with this income level will receive 70%. If the income is higher than this, or if no ISEE has been provided, women receive 70% and men 50%. The minimum payment is 200 EUR. The Bachelor’s degree programme in Chemistry (L-27) distributes 18,214.67 euros, and the Master’s degree programme in Industrial Chemistry (LM-71) distributes 6,739.43 euros.
Who can apply
- Degree: You are studying Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna on a Bachelor’s (L-27) or Master’s (LM-71) degree programme.
- When you started: You enrolled for the first time in the academic year 2025/2026 and have re-enrolled for the academic year 2026/2027.
- Credits: By 30 September 2026, you will have earned at least two-thirds of the credit points (ECTS) required for your first year of study.
- No double funding: You do not also hold the ER.GO 20% bonus for female STEM students, which serves the same purpose.
- Not for transfers or restarts: If you have changed degree programmes, discontinued a previous course of study or are undertaking a second degree, the credit points from that previous course will not be recognised. If you have withdrawn from the university or transferred to another higher education institution by the deadline, you will not be eligible to apply.
- Nationality: Open to all nationalities.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively online via studenti.unibo.it using your SPID or university login by 27 October 2026 at 12:00 noon. You must also submit your ISEE score 2026 for study grants via the ER.GO portal by the same deadline, unless you have already submitted it for tuition fees or other grants. There will be no interview. Applicants will be ranked according to the credits earned in the first year of study, their average mark and their income.
How realistic are your chances?
This funding scheme is very narrowly defined. You must be enrolled on a specific Bologna degree programme in Chemistry, have started in the correct year of study, and have already earned two-thirds of your credit points for the first year of study. This keeps the pool of applicants small. If you meet these requirements, apply by the deadline and can demonstrate solid results in your first year of study, your chances are good. Selection is based on a simple ranking list rather than an essay competition; therefore, a high number of credit points and a good grade point average will move you up the list.
